Hi, I'm Waseem.

I'm a Master of Exercise Physiology with 10+ years of experience working with high-performing men whose bodies were "done." Turns out, they weren't — they were just following advice built for someone else's life.

This is my story — and why I built The Better Yoo.

I'm not a personal trainer. I'm not a life coach. I'm not an Instagram influencer who got fit once and decided that qualified me to tell other people what to do.

I hold a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology — a postgraduate qualification that required years of study in how the human body responds to stress, exercise, recovery, and ageing. It's the same qualification held by professionals who design rehabilitation, performance, and chronic disease management programs.

And for 10+ years, that's exactly what I did — worked with people whose bodies were genuinely struggling. Not coaching already-fit people to get slightly fitter. Working with executives, shift workers, and high-performers who'd tried everything, spent thousands, and still couldn't get their body to change.

The conventional health industry is broken for busy men.

Here's what I learned working with high-performers whose bodies were falling apart — and why everything changed.

I kept seeing the same pattern. A 44-year-old executive would walk in — successful, sharp, running a team, making decisions that moved millions. But his body was falling apart. Lower back pain. Terrible sleep. A 3pm crash he'd been medicating with coffee for years. A waistline that kept expanding no matter what he tried.

And here's the part that got to me: he wasn't lazy. He wasn't undisciplined. He was following advice designed for someone else.

The fitness industry is built for people with energy, low stress, and flexible schedules. For people who can spend 90 minutes in a gym. For people who meal-prep on Sundays. For people whose cortisol isn't through the roof from managing a team and a family.

"The men I worked with weren't broken. They were running on advice built for someone 20 years younger with a completely different life. That's not a willpower problem. That's a design problem."

So I stopped giving conventional advice. I started building protocols based on the actual physiology of high-stress, high-performing men. Sleep architecture. Stress resilience. Hormonal optimisation. Minimum effective dose training — the smallest input that produces the biggest result.

The result is The Better Yoo — a complete system designed specifically for busy men over 35 who've stopped expecting results from generic programs.

What "M.Ex.Phys" actually means — and why it matters for you.

Not all health advice is created equal. Here's what my qualification allows me to do that most fitness professionals can't.

🎓

Master of Exercise Physiology

A postgraduate qualification in exercise science — years of study in exercise prescription, biomechanics, physiology, and chronic disease management.

🔬

Biomarker & Performance Analysis

I don't just ask how you feel. I review your biomarkers — lipids, HbA1c, testosterone, inflammatory markers — and design evidence-based training protocols based on what your numbers actually indicate for performance context.

🧠

Pain Science & Biopsychosocial Care

Modern pain science shows that most chronic pain isn't about tissue damage — it's about your nervous system. I address the whole picture: movement, sleep, stress, confidence, and fear avoidance.

🏋️

Evidence-Based Training Design

Exercise Physiology is the science I studied to understand how the body responds to stress, training, and recovery at a deep level. I apply that knowledge to design protocols that improve metabolic health, hormonal balance, and long-term longevity — through performance coaching, not medical treatment.

⏱️

Minimum Effective Dose

I don't prescribe two-hour gym sessions. I find the smallest dose of exercise that produces the result you want — then I prescribe that. Your time is valuable. I respect it.

📊

Data-Driven Adjustments

I don't guess. I track your metrics — energy, sleep, stress, HRV, training load — and adjust your protocols based on real data. No motivational quotes. Just evidence-based iteration.

Four principles that guide everything I build.

01

Root cause, not symptoms

Your back hurts because your glutes aren't firing and your hips are tight. You crash at 3pm because your circadian rhythm is misaligned. Fix the cause. Symptoms resolve on their own.

02

Minimum effective dose

More is not better. The right dose at the right time beats harder training every time. I find the smallest input that produces the result — then stop. Your time is not infinite.

03

Systems over willpower

Motivation fades by week 3. That's not a character flaw — it's human nature. I build systems that work when you don't feel like it. Protocols, not pep talks.

04

Evidence over authority

I don't care what's trending. I care what the research says. Every protocol in The Better Yoo is backed by peer-reviewed exercise science — not Instagram virality or what some guru sold you.

The values I bring to every client relationship.

  • 🔍 I won't tell you something will work if I'm not confident it will. And I'll tell you when you're wasting money on something that won't.
  • 🛡️ You're not 25 anymore. Your joints don't bounce back like they used to. Every protocol is designed to build resilience, not break you down.
  • 🎯 A program designed for "men over 35" is not the same as a program designed for your life. Your schedule, your stress, your goals — that's what matters.
  • 🧪 I reference the research. If I can't point to a study or a principle from exercise science, I don't prescribe it. Period.
  • 🤝 You have a full life. I design protocols that fit into it — not require you to rearrange it. 30 minutes, 3 times a week. That's the standard.
